SOME HISTORY……                                                                           (Translated by Daniel Sundblad)

I moved from southern Sweden to Stockholm in 1987, where i started to study some filmsciences at the Stockholm University. The reason i did this was, except for the knowledges, to better my chances to get in to a specific film/video school in southern sweden.

After i had finnished the studies, it came to my knowledge that i had the right to my studyroom for another couple of years. So instead of moving back to my old hometown, i stayed and began to search for a job. I started to work in the industry sector, and before i knew it, i had stayed there for 13 years! This is nothing i regret today, since i was the factory chief during the last 4 years, with over 50 people working below me. –A fun and interesting period of time i must say!

In 2002 the Telecom business in sweden nearly crashed because of the foreign competition, and the company i worked for lost almost 60 percent of it´s previous sales. I quit this job in 2003, and straight away i bought myself a Digital Videocamera (CANON XM2)

FIRST PROJECT I started to shoot two different documentary projects. The first one with my old friend Johan Stark (former bassist in swedish pop/rock group TRANCE DANCE.   He had/has a big old classic wooden boat, which he was working on to make it sea-ready.  We filmed about 12 hours the first year. –And the project is still in progress, stay tuned...

TALISMAN The second project was with another pal of mine, Marcel Jacob, which i guess need no further presentation. The result of documenting TALISMAN in the studio and offstage, ended up with me organizing the filming of the two shows on the bands first and only official DVD “The Worlds Best Kept Secret” Released in 2005. (Stockholm Mondo 2003 and Sweden Rock Festival 2003)

MONSTERS OF METAL TALISMAN guitarplayer Fredrik Åkesson (now also ARCH ENEMY) and i became good friends, and decided to try out doing a concertmovie of the coverband he was playing in. We shot a few shows (Sweden Rock Festival Kick-Off 2003 among others) with zero budget. The editing was done on a simple “family vacation” type of program (Pinnacle studio 8), But we ended up with some quite cool material anyway, i think!

THERION In this coverband (“Monsters Of Metal”) one of the members was drummer Sami Karppinen,And we started to spin some ideas of him doing the sound, and i the picture of a gig with the “operametal” group THERION. A few mounths later the project was real. The result of this can be seen on the THERION DVD “Celebrators Of Becoming” out in May 2006.

CAMERA During this period i also learned to know Daniel Sundblad, who was an quite experienced concertfilmer. Joined for the first time when we shot the TALISMAN gig at Mondo. He have become a good friend of mine, and is helping out on most of my productions.  He was the third Swede on the Therion Mexico project besides Sami and me....Overall i can say i couldn´t have done all theese projects without the help of family and friends, who has jumped in as cameramen, helped with computers and software, sound, etc...Not least my girlfriend Nicola, who has allways supported me in everything i´ve done. I´m very grateful for this!
